Sleeve
Choosing the right sleeve can improve the overall lifetime and performance of the sling.
The Extreema® soft sling sleeve
Around an Extreema® soft sling, the outer sleeve sometimes called a cover is a key component that maintains the shape and structure of the sling. It contains and holds together the core yarn strands, which bear the actual load. Without the sleeve, these internal fibers would separate, significantly reducing the sling’s efficiency and usability.
Constructed from durable materials such as HMPE, Cordura® and polyester, the sleeve helps preserve sling alignment and facilitates smoother handling during lifts. It also provides the first point of contact between the sling and its environment, influencing overall performance and longevity.
To match various lifting conditions, we offer four specialized sling sleeve options, each designed to support your equipment and extend its service life. While sleeve material can resist wear to some degree, it’s important to remember that its primary role is containment and does not complete protection. This protection can be achieved using the Extreema® Protection series.
Extreema® L-series sleeve
The Extreema® L-serial sleeve is made from Dyneema® or HMPE (High-Modulus Polyethylene), both highly durable and performance-driven materials trusted across multiple industries for their exceptional resistance to cuts, abrasions, and punctures. While white is the standard color for the Extreema® L-serial sleeve, custom colors are available upon request to suit specific identification or safety requirements.
The Extreema® L-serial sleeve is used around our Extreema® The Original round sling which has a strong reputation in a wide range of industrial, maritime, and construction settings. The Extreema® L-serial sleeve offers trusted performance and long-term value for your lifting and rigging needs. This makes it ideal for demanding lifting, rigging, and heavy-duty load handling applications.
Cordura® sleeve
When it comes to strength, durability, and performance, Cordura is a leading material of choice in high-performance lifting gear. Engineered for extreme conditions, Cordura is widely recognized for its outstanding resistance to abrasions, tears, scuffs and friction (heat / pressure) making it ideal for protecting critical components in heavy-duty applications.
Offered in a sleek black outer sleeve, Cordura delivers both toughness and a professional appearance. Its robust fiber structure plays a vital role in enhancing the longevity and reliability of heavy-lift round slings used across industrial, construction, and marine environments.
The Cordura sleeve is used around the Black Belt Sling™ which provides strong and reliable lifting performance. Choose the Cordura sleeve when maximum durability and trusted performance are non-negotiable.
Polyester sleeve and polyester heavy duty sleeve
Polyester sleeves are a widely used, cost-effective solution for lifting operations that require consistent performance across a broad temperature range of -40°C to +100°C. Manufactured from high-quality 100% polyester yarn, these sleeves are known for their durability, flexibility, and distinctive orange color, making them easy to identify on site.
Ideal for standard lifting and rigging tasks, polyester sleeves deliver a dependable performance in most environments. However, users should be mindful of polyester’s tendency to absorb water, which may affect performance in wet or humid conditions.
Overall, polyester sleeves are a practical balance between affordability, strength, and ease of use which makes them a reliable choice for many everyday lifting applications.
Extreema® XL sleeve
The Extreema® XL sleeve, crafted from high-performance Dyneema® or HMPE (High-Modulus Polyethylene), is specifically engineered to protect slings from sharp edges and highly abrasive surfaces. Designed for the toughest lifting conditions, this cut-resistant sleeve offers an exceptional defense against punctures, tears, and surface wear, making it an ideal choice for demanding industrial environments.
Its primary function is to extend the lifespan of round slings by shielding the core yarn strands from direct contact with damaging surfaces which minimizes downtime, reducing maintenance costs, and enhancing overall operational safety.
Built for durability and long-term performance, the Extreema® XL sleeve is a smart, practical solution for those seeking maximum sling protection in harsh working conditions.
