Lift-Tex® service

Fiber slings (webbing and round slings) can be proof load tested before being used for the first time. Lift-Tex® can provide the complete procedure for proof load certification of new and used slings. One of the strenghts of Lift-Tex® is the effort we put in finding the right product for each lifting job. Our in-house engineering department can be of great added value in selecting the right product. Specially designed products by our engineers can be supplied with design approval.

Dyneema® is an Ultra High Modulus PolyEthylene Fiber which offers maximum strength combined with minimum weight: it is up to 15 times stronger than quality steel and up to 40% stronger than aramid fibers. Dyneema® fiber floats on water and is extremely durable and resistant to moisture, UV light and chemicals. It has a D:d of 1:1 for round slings up to 200T.

Polyester versus Dyneema® comparison

Yes, Lift-Tex® has a service and repair team. We strive to deliver the best service in the industry. Not only does a combination of our mobility and our highly trained staff enable us to deliver products within a short time range, it also makes it possible to provide on-site service and repair. By making use of this service you can lenghten the lifetime of your Extreema® round slings. A longer life span allows you to save costs on the long run.

Our service and repair team can be available within 24 hours in the Netherlands. In Western-Europe our team is available within 48 hours.

A jacket covers the round sling and cannot be considered to be a protection sleeve. Depending on the material you choose, it will help the sling survive under numorous conditions. Find out all our available options here.

It is advised to use protection. This can lenghten the Factor Of Life of your sling and it is more economic and faster to replace protection than a round sling.

According to the EN-1492 regulations for safe use of round slings the sling should be protected on the anchoring point (shackles, pins, etc.) as well as the lifting appliance (crane hook). Slings should be protected from edges, friction and abrasion, whether from the load or the lifting appliance.

The life span of an Extreema® round sling depends on the lifting situation. Every lifting situation is different, and it also depends on the protection being used. When a round sling is damaged after intensive use, normally it is possible to repair the sling.

According EN1492, and comparable standards, the technical requirements are “to minimize the hazards  (e.g. listed in EN1492 §4) which can arise during the use of roundslings when carried out in accordance with the instructions and specifications given by the manufacturer or authorized representative.”

For example: in some applications Extreema® has a proven track record of over 37.500 lifts before the slings are rejected according to general work methods and guidelines in relation to wear and depreciation in general. After research, the slings deemed in an acceptable state and had a minimum remaining strength of 93%.

Extreema® slings enable you to work with a D:d of 1:1 (>200T D:d = 1: 1,5).

We advise using sling friendly materials such as wide body shackles and sling friendly hooks.
